I am a Consultant Nephrologist at the Richard Bright Renal Unit in Southmead Hospital, Bristol and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol and Imperial College London. I graduated from Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge and
completed nephrology training at the Hammersmith Hospital, London. I was awarded an MD in Nephrology at Imperial College London and remain active in clinical research with a special interest in
end-stage renal disease, dialysis and cerebrovascular disease.
I have comprehensive experience in the management of glomerular disease and vasculitis, lupus nephritis, and
complex hypertension, maintenance dialysis and renal transplantation as well as the provision of acute renal care.
I run nephrology clinics at Southmead Hospital (Mondays) and the Royal United Hospital Bath (Thursdays)
as well as the dialysis unit at the Bath.
I am Strategic Director for the Renal, Vascular and Transplant Networks at North Bristol NHS Trust. I am also clinical lead for haemodialysis and clinical research at the Richard Bright Renal Unit and NIHR:CRN West of England Lead for Renal Disorders.
Throughout my clinical practice and research I aim to improve treatments and outcomes in patients with kidney disease.
